A FUNDRAISER will be held in Colchester in memory of a paratrooper who was killed in action.
Pte Conrad Lewis was attached to 3 Para, based at Colchester Garrison, when he was killed in Afghanistan on February 9, 2011, aged 22.
The fundraiser will be held at Castle Park, as part of the Colchester Food and Drink Festival, on Saturday, June 28.
It will include a raffle and a stall selling legion merchandise, while rock band The Sonophonics will take to the stage.
While on tour, Pte Lewis befriended stray dog, Peg.
After his death, animal charity Nowzad flew the dog to the UK, where she now lives with Pte Conrad’s family, in Warwickshire.
Proceeds will go towards the Royal British Legion.
