TRAFFIC officers are appealing for information after a road crash on Mersea Road.

Two white BMWs collided at the junction with Napier Road.

The crash took place at about 2.20pm on Tuesday at the traffic lights.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: The driver of a BMW 530 from the Colchester area was uninjured and the male driver of the BMW 318 received a leg injury and was treated by ambulance crews."

He was taken by ambulance to Colchester General Hospital for treatment.

Police need to speak to anyone who was in the area, either motorists or pedestrians who witnessed the collision at the traffic lights.
