A thug who bottled Jay Whiston moments before he was stabbed to death has been jailed for three years.
Rhys Hennebry, 19, admitted his part in the brawl outside a house party in Colchester that led to Jay's death.
He hit Jay, 17, over the head with a bottle just seconds before Edward Redman, 18, knifed him in the heart.
Hennebry has also been convicted of beating up a man earlier on the same day on Colchester's Greenstead Estate.
Today he was sentenced to two years for the attack on Jay and one year for the other attack to run consecutively.
