A WOMAN who was seen speaking to murder victim Jim Attfield on the night he died contacted police within minutes of police issuing an appeal to speak to her.
CCTV from the River Lodge Pub shows father-of-five Jim speaking to the woman about half an hour before he left at about 10pm.
The officers investigating the brutal murder released CCTV images of the woman this morning, and said they wanted to rule her out of their case.
She came forward and identified herself within minutes of the social media appeal, and detectives will speak to her soon.
Crimestoppers have offered a reward of up to £5,000 for information which leads to an arrest and conviction of Jim's killer.
Anyone with information is asked to call Essex Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
A man and a woman, both aged 27 and from Colchester, are currently on police bail until Friday after being arrested in connection with the murder
