A teenager's dirt bike was stolen as thieves broke into a garage while a family was out.

Intruders broke into a garage in Coggeshall Road, Feering, on Thursday, April 17, between 10.30am and 1.20pm.

They stole two dirt bikes and a red tool box containing various handheld tools.

The thieves broke the lock on the garage door, but did not cause any other damage.

One of the bikes, an orange Motorola MRX3, belonged to 14-year-old Morgan Smith, who had ridden the vehicle since she was eight.

Her mum, Georgia-Leigh Garwood, 43, said: “Our normal home contents insurance won’t cover this so it will take ages to save up for a replacement.”

Anyone who knows anything about the theft or the current location of the bikes is asked to call PC Jamie Dove at Braintree police station on 101.
