RESEARCH by professors at Essex University has found big differences in the attitudes towards intervention in Ukraine.

When asked if Britain should get involved in the conflict, 39 per cent of Conservatives, 34 per cent of Labour supporters, 58 per cent of Ukip supporters and 25 per cent of Lib Dems opposed any involvement.

The survey of 2,100 people was done by Tom Scotto and Paul Whiteley, from Essex University, along with professors from Exeter and Texas universites.

It also showed older people were more opposed to British intervention.
