Hundreds of people are set to take part in this year’s Sport Relief Mile.
The event begins at 11am on March 23 in Castle Park, Colchester, and aims to support those living in tough conditions in the UK and in some of the world’s poorest countries.
Belinda Kerins and Janet Watkins, event organisers from Fun With Fitness, said: “Last year the Colchester Mile had more than 700 participants, and this year we want even more of you to get involved to get that total even higher.
“There will be something for everyone, on what looks set to be a great day, so don’t forget to rope in your mates, family, boyfriend, girlfriend and colleagues too and get training.”
The nationwide campaign will also see celebrities doing their bit and the BBC host a night of Sport Relief TV on March 21.
