A BONE marrow donor has had the bike he was using as part of his recovery stolen.
Ryan Appleton, 25, underwent an operation in August and is still trying to get back to full fitness.
This has been put on hold as his red Raleigh rally airlite racing bike was stolen from outside his Colchester home.
He said: “I use the bike regularly.
I’m just getting back to fitness – it is a long recovery progress.
“Not having it is a nightmare. It has put a stop to everything.
“I was using the bike because it is less impact than running, to ease myself back into training.
“It has put a stop to that. I haven’t been able to do anything since.”
The bike was locked in the cycle store outside Mr Appleton’s flat on the Solus estate, off Berechurch Hall Road.
