A HOMEOWNER scared away two burglars who attempted to break into his home.

The owner was upstairs at his home in Station Road, Dovercourt, on Monday at around 10.30pm when he heard a noise and went downstairs to discover two men trying to get inside.

They ran off but caused £300 of damage to a patio door. Nothing was stolen.

Both men are thought to be in their 20s. One was white and wearing light grey jogging bottoms, a hooded top and had a dark scarf across his mouth.

There is no description of the other man.
