TWO men allegedly fled from a crash involving a car stolen hours earlier.

Officers were contacted shortly before 1.30am on Saturday following reports of a crash involving a black Saab in Plough Road, Great Bentley.

The caller told police two men ran away from the scene.

The police helicopter was scrambled.

Two men were arrested on the A133 at Frating a short time later.

Police said the Saab was stolen from Bradford Drive, Colchester.

Two men have been charged in connection with the incident and will appear before Colchester Magistrates on Monday.
