5:38pm Thursday 10th October 2013 in News
A COLCHESTER charity marked World Mental Health Day with food and fun.
Colchester Mind occupied the St Botolph’s Waiting Rooms, in the old bus station, and offered up plates of Indian food, Indian massages, short entertaining films by British directors and more.
Charlotte Phoenix, community development worker, created a tree on which visitors could place leaves giving others ideas of what makes them feel better.
She said: “There’s been a real mixture of people and they have really been getting involved in the activities.
“We want to get discussion going on destigmatising mental health by saying we all have our mental health to look after.
“We’re all affected by mental health and this is about doing things together as a community."
The event, supported by North East Essex clinical commissioning group, was the fifth held by the charity since 2009, which have gradually grown in size and popularity.
