Rail flexi-fares should be trialed in Essex MP claims
FLEXIBLE season tickets for rail passengers should be trialed in Essex, an MP has said.
Witham MP Priti Patel has called for a national pilot of flexible tickets to be carried out by the region’s rail operator Greater Anglia.
It follows the announcement yesterday by transport secretary Patrick McLoughlin of plans to try out the tickets designed for part-time workers.
Under the proposed scheme season tickets covering just a few days of the week would be available for those who occasionally work at home or do not commute every day.
