Officers believe bid to build 1,600 homes in Colchester should move forward.

A BID to build 1,600 homes in the north of Colchester has taken a major step forward.
Next Thursday, members of Colchester Council's planning committee will debate an application to build the homes, a neighbourhood centre, two schools and more on land off Nayland Road.
Now, board papers reveal officers have recommended the committee approve the outline application, subject to a host of conditions.
If the recommendation is accepted at the Moot Hall next week, a final decision will be made by a government minister.
