Care crisis looms for Essex, report warns
A GRAVE crisis in care looms for Essex a new report warns.
The Who Will Care? commission says an ageing population coupled with spending cuts could be a time-bomb if action to address care provision in the county is not taken now.
Launched by Essex County Council in January the commission, headed up by Sir Thomas Hughes-Hallett, has outlined five key areas to tackle the crisis.
Key suggestions in the commission’s 46 page report include improved computer systems which will allow the NHS, councils and care providers to share information more easily, and early intervention to stop people getting into crisis situations.
