Colchester: New sign unveiled
8:00pm Monday 9th September 2013 in News
VOLUNTEERS have given a village sign a fresh new look.
The new, improved Myland village sign on the green in Mill Road, Colchester, was officially unveiled by community councillors.
Wendy Bailey, an artist based in Boxted Road, had tidied up the signage work for free.
And Adrian Ellis, a builder from Nayland Road, fitted the posts and brickwork.
Martin Goss, community councillor and borough councillor for Mile End ward, said: “It shows real community spirit when two local volunteers come forward and spend their own time and money helping to refurbish an important landmark in the area. We really appreciate their efforts.”
