KIND-HEARTED youngsters will don their favourite wellies to support a much-loved charity.
Holmwood House School in Colchester is continuing to support St Helena Hospice with a series of charity events.
Under-fives will jump in muddy puddles and embrace the outdoors at a “Welly Walk” on April 17.
The children will be joined by the charity’s mascot, Saunders, as they embark on an engaging walk around the school’s early years and outdoor learning areas.
Year 8 pupils recently held a charity day where pupils enjoyed slushie stalls, chocolate fountains, bake sales, while one teacher got soaked as sponges were thrown at their head.
A Lego contest was held on the same day which gave the students a chance to show off their creativity while raising money for the Colchester-based charity.
Headteacher Ed Bond said: “We are delighted to be supporting such an important local charity that holds a special place in the hearts of many of the Holmwood House community.”
James Martin-Whymark, community fundraiser at St Helena, added: “The care and support St Helena patients and their families receive is only possible because of the generosity and kindness of volunteers, donors and fundraisers like Holmwood. We are forever grateful.”
